The Irish Cellular Industry is due to publish a guide today on how to keep mobile phones and the internet safe for children.

The booklet includes advice on how to deal with bullying or malicious phone calls and text messages and how to ensure that children surf the web safely.

The Irish Cellular Industry said it was a recognition that mobile phone and internet technology, while bringing positive benefits, had also led to new dangers, particularly for children.
