New research reveals men more likely to have high blood pressure
A new survey has found that two in five Irish people have high blood pressure with men especially 'feeling the pressure'.
Irish Heart's Mobile Health Unit has tested more than 11,000 people in 26 counties across Ireland in the past year.
Marese Damery,Health Check Manager with Irish Heart, has said men are more likely to suffer high blood pressure than women and they are less likely to follow-up with a doctor.
"More men have high blood pressure than women and it is concerning that men are reluctant to go to their GP because high blood pressure is a major risk for stroke and heart attach," she said.
"We really want to encourage men to have their blood pressure checked and if it is high to go to their GP."
