The Defence Forces have confirmed that a video of two Irish soldiers 'mock' aiming their machine guns at locals in Liberia was posted on the internet by a soldier.

The person in question is being interviewed today and the Defence Forces say those involved could face disciplinary action.

The footage showed two soldiers appearing to fire their weapons at a crowd of local people in Liberia while others take cover.

A spokesperson for the Defence Forces described the incident as 'totally unacceptable'.
