Car hijacker remanded for sentence

A Clondalkin man who hijacked a car and then drove it at a householder has been remanded for sentence on June 10 next by Judge Elizabeth Dunne at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

A Clondalkin man who hijacked a car and then drove it at a householder has been remanded for sentence on June 10 next by Judge Elizabeth Dunne at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Mark Kane (30) of St Mark's Grove pleaded guilty to hijacking the car at Castle Close, Clondalkin on September 26, 2001.

He also admitted he then recklessly drove the car on the same occasion the direction of a man thus threatening to cause serious injury or death.

Garda Barry Walsh will give evidence of the crimes on June 10 and Judge Dunne also directed the preparation of victim impact reports for that hearing.
