Friend 'received several texts' from murder accused, court hears

A friend of a man on trial for allegedly stabbing a man to death in Dublin says he received a text from the accused claiming he thought he had murdered someone.

Wayne Kennedy denies murdering David Spain outside his house at Rathsallagh Park, Shankill in the early hours of St. Stephen’s Day, 2013.

The 33-year-old has also pleaded not guilty to stabbing pro boxer Sean Turner during what the prosecution claims was a fight over a €50 debt.

Mark McGovern told the jurors today that he received several texts from Mr Kennedy asking for his help and claiming he had “no one else”.
