Sheryl Crow used pal Jennifer Aniston as an example as she was coping with the scrutiny surrounding her shock split from cyclist Lance Armstrong - because the actress is the poster girl of grace under fire.
The All I Wanna Do star's pals, including Aniston and fellow former Friends star Courteney Cox Arquette, swarmed around the heartbroken rocker when she first split from Armstrong at the beginning of the year.
And she took great strength from the fact that Aniston had been through the same pain when her marriage split from Brad Pitt hit the headlines the year before.
She says: "What she's had to go through has been kind of demoralising and, to see that we're stooping this low to press so heavily into somebody's personal life - and to actually vilify them, is very discouraging.
"Yet she handles that with an immense amount of grace and compassion. She seems to be always operating from the heart."
