Mayor's employment commission to hold final conference

The Lord Mayor's Commission on Employment - which was established to tackle rising unemployment in Dublin - will hold its final conference in the capital today.

The Lord Mayor's Commission on Employment - which was established to tackle rising unemployment in Dublin - will hold its final conference in the capital today.

The newly appointed European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science Maire Geoghegan Quinn will make a key-note address.

The Commission is finalising its report which will include a number of recommendations on how to maximise employment, enterprise and innovation.

The Lord Mayor of Dublin Emer Costello said a number of exciting ideas have been put forward.
