It is believed the victim’s mother was at home when three masked men burst into the house in Koran Square in Strabane at around 10.30pm last night.

They beat the man, who is in his thirties, with iron bars in the living room before dragging him outside where they tried to set fire to his car.

The victim sustained cuts and bruises to the head, left arm and legs.

Police in Strabane have appealed for information about the attack.
