The Labour Party is holding its first parliamentary party meeting since the general election in Leinster House.
It will discuss its nominations for the Senate but will also be looking at its election performance.
With 21 TDs elected, the same as in the last Dail, Labour insiders are disappointed with its showing.
Dublin West Deputy, Joan Burton, believes the party must get to the bottom of why it did not pick up more seats.
She said: "On certain issues such as health, transport, housing and of course the question of carers there is a very strong response from the electorate to the Labour Party raising those issues.
"On the other hand the Labour Party did not manage to translate that into votes."
