Chinese qualifications to be recognised in Ireland
Chinese higher education qualifications will be fully recognised in Ireland by the end of the year.
The move is designed to open up the Irish job market to qualified Chinese workers and it is hoped it will also have benefits for Irish employers and the economy.
The Higher Education and Training Awards Council announced the decision today in Dublin.
Seamus Puirseil, Chief Executive of HETAC said Irish people have an obligation to show generosity to foreign workers coming here.
“The new entrants to our workforce from overseas are a valuable asset to our economy and our society. But they must not be confined to menial or low level jobs when they have qualifications that will increase their earning potential and career development,” Mr Puirseil said.
