Italian Serie A side AC Parma have named Arrigo Sacchi as the team's new coach, according to Italian news reports.
Sacchi, a former Italy national team coach, will replace Alberto Malesani, who was sacked Monday a day after Parma lost at home against the Italian league's last-place team, Reggina.
Sacchi led Italy to second place in the 1994 World Cup in the United States where the team lost the final to Brazil in a penalty shoot-out.
Since being fired by Spanish club Atletico Madrid in 1999 Sacchi has worked as a television soccer commentator.
