It was a family affair when the Osmonds received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The star, located on Hollywood Boulevard, honours siblings Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie and Jimmy Osmond for their decades of work in entertainment.
“I’ve never really known a family as talented,” singer Andy Williams said after introducing the honourees. ”They’re like sponges.”
The Osmond Brothers – Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay – debuted on The Andy Williams TV show in 1962. They were later joined by younger siblings Donny, Marie and Jimmy Donny and Marie became hosts of TV’s Donny and Marie show in 1976.
“Sharing this star with family says a lot,” said Donny Osmond, who wore a neck brace because of an injury he suffered while surfing in Hawaii.
Marie Osmond told hundreds of screaming fans: “This star is a tribute to two very special people – our parents.”
