There has been a massive increase in planning approvals for homes in the second quarter of the year, according to the Central Statistics Office.
Approvals went up 87.4% when compared with the same period in 2014, to more than 3,000 dwelling units.
Permissions for houses went up by almost 77%, while apartment approvals soared by 227%, although from a relatively low base of 114 to 373.
The figures also show that one-off houses accounted for 27.3% of all new dwelling units granted planning permission in this quarter.
However, the total number of planning permissions granted for all developments fell by 2.7% from 4,149 in the second quarter of 2014 to 4,038 in the same quarter this year.
