The Fianna Fail and Progressive Democrats negotiating teams are said to be making progress on hammering out a new programme for Government.

Talks are now in their third day, and it is still hoped a deal can be agreed before the Bank Holiday weekend.

Both the Taoiseach and the Tanaiste are being kept up to date on developments at the negotiating table and so far there have been no major difficulties.
