Three taxi passengers killed in Limerick crash

Investigations are continuing after three men lost their lives in a two-vehicle crash in Co Limerick last night.

Investigations are continuing after three men lost their lives in a two-vehicle crash in Co Limerick last night.

The collision happened at 9.10pm around three miles outside Abbeyfeale on the road to Newcastle West.

It is believed the dead men - two aged 32 and one aged 37 - were passengers in a taxi and were on their way home from the Listowel races.

Three other occupants of the people carrier were taken to Limerick Regional Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The four occupants of the other car were not seriously injured.

The road has now reopened and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
