High Court refuses to overturn Priory Hall ruling

The High Court has refused to overturn an order directing Dublin City Council to pay for the accommodation of Priory Hall's evacuated residents.

The local authority claims putting up the 250 residents is costing €350,000.

Their lawyers said that it is not a question of washing hands but it is not the responsibility of the council in its role as the fire authority to house the evacuees.

Fireproofing of the dangerous complex is at a standstill and developer Tom McFeely could be facing jail for not failing to carry out the necessary remedial works when the case comes back to court on Thursday.
