A group representing alleged abuse victims by Dr Michael Shine at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda are meeting with the Health Minister Mary Harney this evening.

Dr Shine was struck off the medical register over allegations that he sexually abused patients over a 30-year period.

In 2003, he was found not guilty of sexual assault by a jury.

The group Dignity for Patients wants a full inquiry into the case.

Spokesperson Bernadette Sullivan says dozens of lives have been affected.
