The lineup for tonight's Evocations Gala Concert as part of the Cork Choral Festival has been changed.
As a result of strikes taking place by pilots from the Scandinavian airline SAS, Helen Stureborg’s Chamber Choir are unable to travel on account of cancelled flights.
The choir had been due to perform at the gala concert which takes place in St Mary & St Anne’s Cathedral at 10.30pm tonight.
However, the chamber choir from Cork, Madrigal 75, have agreed to perform in their place.
Festival Manager Elaine Fitzgerald said: “Helene Stureborg’s Chamber Choir's flight was cancelled as a result of the SAS strike and, unfortunately, could not be rescheduled.
"We are extremely grateful to Madrigal 75 for agreeing to perform at such short notice and would like to thank their conductor James Taylor for ensuring that the Evocations Gala Concert will still take place during the 65th Cork International Choral Festival.”
