Around €1.4m worth of cannabis was seized in Limerick, gardaí have confirmed.

Around €1.4m worth of cannabis was seized in Limerick, gardaí have confirmed.

A garda spokesman said detectives had uncovered a cache of 200 kilos of cannabis resin as a result of an operation targeting criminal activity in Limerick city.

Officers said no one has been arrested so far over the find.

Detectives uncovered the stash at around 8pm last night after a search of a house at Rathuard, Ballysheedy, Co Limerick.

A garda spokesman said a number of vehicles believed to be associated with the find were also seized and the investigations were ongoing.
