Ports disinfection plan nearing completion

The Taoiseach has said this evening that an agreement with British authorities on placing Irish disinfection points at six British ports is nearing completion.

The Taoiseach has said this evening that an agreement with British authorities on placing Irish disinfection points at six British ports is nearing completion.

The Government is putting Irish officials at the ports to oversee the disinfection process.

Bertie Ahern added that the agreement would aim at preventing the spread of foot and mouth disease to Ireland.
