French fighter lined up for Khan
Amir Khan will face Frenchman Rachid Drilzane in his 10th professional contest at London’s ExCel Arena on December 9.
The 28-year-old Frenchman has won 10 of his 13 fights although he is yet to claim a victory inside the distance.
Khan, who will turn 20 the day before the show, said: “I have had a good look at Drilzane. He is not a bad fighter but I will not let him ruin my birthday.
“This year has been pretty special, and it would be great to finish it just the way I started it – with a first-round knockout.”
Khan stopped Londoner Ryan Barrett in just 111 seconds of his last fight in Bolton in September, and has only been taken the distance once in his five outings this year.
Khan added: “They always say a boxer’s first 10 fights are about learning the ropes, and I feel ready to be let off the leash after this one.
“I want to start winning titles as soon as possible, and hopefully I will fight for my first one before too long in 2007.”
Scott Harrison tops the bill with a WBO featherweight title defence against Nicky Cook, while Matt Skelton meets Audley Harrison in a Commonwealth heavyweight title scrap.
