The 28-year-old singer loves the musical TV drama and would be thrilled if show bosses decided to make a one-off special featuring just her group’s music.

She said: “I am a fan of ‘Glee’. I loved the Lady Gaga episode and the Madonna one was brilliant too.

“It would be amazing to do a Girls Aloud episode, why can’t they do that? You could completely turn our songs in a theatrical direction if you wanted. It would be amazing.”

Despite her love of the series, Kimberley admits she tuned in initially expecting to hate it.

She added to Britain’s OK! magazine: “I started watching it thinking maybe it would be too cheesy for me but that’s the beauty of it – it’s total escapism.”

The next music star getting their own ‘Glee’ episode is Billy Joel.

The 61-year-old musician - whose hit song 'Piano Man' was performed on the show last year - revealed he has given bosses permission to use his extensive back catalogue in the show because it reminds him of his own school days.

Asked if he would ever allow a Billy Joel episode of the show, he replied: "I already have."

He added: "I have no idea when it will happen. All I know is I said, 'Yeah! Go ahead. Use my stuff.' I was in a chorus when I was in high school, why not?"
