Oisín Conroy, of Mail Coach Road in Sligo, has spent the last week on suicide watch in Castlerea Prison.

A judge also ordered that he have psychiatric care in custody, after he arrived with self-inflicted injuries for his first appearance in the District Court.

Twenty-three-year-old Natalie McGuinness (pictured) died in hospital last week, a short time after being found wounded at a house in Sligo Town.

The first officers on the scene used a taser to subdue a man carrying a knife.
