Health Minister Mary Harney said today she is not ruling out further cuts to ministerial pay in December's budget.

Health Minister Mary Harney said today she is not ruling out further cuts to ministerial pay in December's budget.

Minister Harney said everyone has a responsibility to play their part in the economic recovery process.

Last year the Taoiseach's salary was reduced by 11% while ministers' pay packages fell by 5.5%.

Minister Harney said she believes people in a leadership position have to lead by example.

"I don't think anything should be ruled out," she said. "Clearly we all have a responsbility to play our part.

"We have a long number of meetings scheduled to prepare this four-year plan and the budget for this year, and it will be the most challenging yet."
