Two stabbed in fierce Belfast attack

Two men were stabbed in the abdomen and a woman punched in the throat in a Belfast city centre knife attack early today.

Two men were stabbed in the abdomen and a woman punched in the throat in a Belfast city centre knife attack early today.

The group of friends, which included another woman, were set upon by six men near the Dublin Road at around 2.10am.

They were confronted by the gang as they were walking from Ormeau Avenue. One of the men also sustained a severe cut to the head while his friend was also stabbed in the arm.

They were taken to hospital where their conditions were reported to be not life threatening.

Their attackers were seen walking off in the direction of Cromac Street and Ormeau Avenue.

Police at Musgrave Street in the city have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the attack to come forward and help their investigation.
