Gardaí in Limerick think a weapons find near Moyross yesterday has averted a gang-related attack.

Gardaí in Limerick think a weapons find near Moyross yesterday has averted a gang-related attack.

Around 30 armed and uniformed gardaí recovered two automatic handguns and two sawn-off shotguns at a derelict house on the Old Cratloe Road yesterday morning.

A 1,000cc motorbike was seized from another property.

Gardaí believe they were going to be used by one of the city's main gangs in an attack on members of another gang.

No arrests were made.
