Unions: Inflation causing problems for wage agreement

Unions have indicated that rising inflation is causing problems for the national wage agreement, and said that re-negotiations on Towards 2016 may be necessary.

At today's talks on the progress of the social partnership deal, ICTU said inflation could affect the roll out of wage increases.

It also said the Government could not expect workers to carry the burden of inflation.

The union suggested that price control may be needed in some areas like health and education in order to help middle and low income earners.
