Rooster Booster has been well supported for the Smurfit Champion Hurdle.

The Philip Hobbs-trained eight-year-old was an easy nine-length winner of the Rehabilitation Of Racehorses Hurdle at Cheltenham on Sunday and bookmakers have slashed his price for the Festival event.

Rooster Booster has been cut a point by William Hill to 7-1 favourite while Coral report a “sizeable ante-post plunge” and have cut his price from 10s to 7-1 also.

“Some very shrewd punters have been backing Rooster Booster today and a win in the Bula Hurdle next month would cement his position as ante post favourite for the Champion Hurdle,” said Simon Clare, Coral spokesman.
