A 69-year-old Tipperary man has died in a fall at a beauty spot in the Canary Islands.

A 69-year-old Tipperary man has died in a fall at a beauty spot in the Canary Islands.

The man, who has been named as Patrick Hanrahan, was with a group of tourists in north Lanzarote when he lost his balance and fell 800 feet to his death.

Local officials have described the case as a tragic accident, but an investigation headed by a judge is underway.
