Dennis Hopper has filed for divorce on his deathbed.
The ‘Apocalypse Now’ actor – who is believed to have only a month left to live after the prostrate cancer he was diagnosed with last year spread to his bones – has applied for legal separation from Victoria Duffy, who he has been married to for almost 14 years, citing “irreconcilable differences”.
According to reports, furious Victoria – with whom he has a six-year-old daughter Galen – has “barricaded herself” in their Californian home, despite the 73-year-old star’s attempts to get her to move out and is furious at his bids to reduce the amount she will receive in his will from that stated in their original pre-nuptial agreement.
A source said: "This is about getting Victoria out of the will."
A friend of the couple said: "It's truly a tragedy, and sadly it's all about the money and who inherits what."
According to court records, the 73-year-old actor lists the date of separation as last Tuesday.
He has offered to pay his wife support and is also requesting joint legal custody of their six-year-old daughter Galen.
Hopper has four children from his five marriages.
