A study by researchers at UCD has reportedly found that Dubliners are significantly less satisfied with life than people who live in the country.

Reports this morning say the study had concluded that the environment in which people live is a major factor in their well-being.

Overcrowding, congestion and the proximity to major transport routes are reportedly cited as the main causes of unhappiness in the Dublin region.

Elsewhere, people living near the coast were found to be considerably more satisfied with life than those living further from the sea.
