Gardai arrest man in connection to hit-and-run

A man has been arrested in relation to the fatal hit and run incident in Co Longford, which took place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A man has been arrested in relation to the fatal hit-and-run incident in Co Longford, which took place in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident occurred on the Longford to Ballymahon Road and yesterday it was reported that the Gardai were searching for the driver of a white car that was seen in the area at about the same time as the incident took place.

The man who was killed in the accident has been named as 64-year-old Eamonn Hoey from Moydow.
