Two men to appear in court over Galway drug seizure

Two men in their 30s are to appear at a special sitting of Galway District Court today in connection with yesterday's drug seizure in the county.

Two men in their 30s are to appear at a special sitting of Galway District Court today in connection with yesterday's drug seizure in the county.

Cannabis worth an estimated €1.1m was seized at about 2pm yesterday.

The seizure. which was made at a house in the Loughrea area, was the result of an ongoing operation by gardaí and customs officers.

Two men were arrested and held under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

They are to appear in court shortly charged in connection with the seizure.
