India has tightened security in its capital, New Delhi, after an Islamic militant allegedly planning an attack on New Year’s Eve was arrested in the city yesterday.

Police said Mohammed Yunus was caught with 11lbs of explosives in a crowded bus station.

He apparently confessed that his “bosses” in Pakistan told him to detonate the explosives in New Delhi tonight.

Yunus alleged trained with Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, an Islamic group, which has been fighting Indian rule in Kashmir for 12 years.
