Train evacuated in fire scare

Passengers on this evening's Dublin to Cork train have been evacuated in Thurles.

Passengers on this evening's Dublin to Cork train have been evacuated in Thurles.

Smoke from a generator was making its way into the dining car.

A fire brigade was on standby when the train reached Thurles station as a precaution, and the carriage was emptied.

The passengers had to wait around an hour and half, to be accommodated on the next service.
