Razorlight to make rave album

'Golden Touch' rockers Razorlight – whose last LP ‘Slipway Fires’ was slammed by critics – are planning to make a rave album with their next record and want to work with other artists.

Singer Johnny Borrell said: “It’s going to be a different sound. I want to collaborate with someone. I’m thinking a house music extravaganza.”

Despite hoping to team up with other musicians on the new project, Johnny has ruled out performing with any of his former Libertines bandmates.

The ‘Wire To Wire’ singer – who was bassist in an early incarnation of the group with Pete Doherty and Carl Barat – added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “I was sifting through old things the other day and found a piece of paper with some songs from Carl.

“That was another era. I wish The Libertines all the best if they do get back together.”

Razorlight were rocked earlier this year when drummer Andy Burrows walked out due to conflict with the singer.

Following his departure, Andy - who co-wrote the group's biggest hit 'America' - said: "It was hell. I'm glad I'm finally out of it.

"I hated being in the band. Johnny and I didn't get on. Now I've got my freedom. He never wanted people to know we both wrote songs and I couldn't be in control. I'm happy again now."
