Green Party Ministers are to raise the state car privilege enjoyed by members of the Government at cabinet level.

The junior coalition partner is said to be anxious about the issue after the outcry which greeted coverage of the fleet arriving at Farmleigh for a Cabinet meeting last week.

It prompted the Green leader John Gormley's suggestion that a car-pooling system might be more appropriate for ministers.
