Beckhams expand 'Beckingham Palace'

British celebrity supercouple David and Victoria Beckham are extending their sprawling English country home, to accommodate their growing family.

British celebrity supercouple David and Victoria Beckham are extending their sprawling English country home, to accommodate their growing family.

Following the news 30-year-old Victoria is three months pregnant with the couple's third child - due in March next year - the Beckhams are building an extra bedroom at their Hertfordshire mansion, dubbed "Beckingham Palace", ready for the new baby.

They have submitted a planning request to the local council for the changes to the €9m pad, which include two extra floors on their swimming pool building to house the extra bedroom and storage space.

The work, which will cost in excess of €150,000 also comes just days after the Beckhams announced they have bought their first family home in Madrid, Spain - where David plays for local side Real Madrid.

But friends say "Beckingham Palace" will remain their first home. A pal explains:"David and Victoria's love affair with Beckingham Palace is far from over.

"With a new addition to the family on the way, the couple need an extra bedroom and a nursery for their baby in the main house, so need to build more space for guests elsewhere."
