Tributes paid to Healy-Rae

Political figures from around the country have been remembering the Jackie-Healy Rae, after the Kerryman passed away.

Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin offered his condolences to the Healy-Rae Family.

“I was very saddened to hear of the death of Jackie Healy Rae. I knew Jackie very well and was always very fond of him. He was a unique politician and he captured the imagination of the people of Kerry and across Ireland with his story telling and his sheer determination to improve services in South Kerry,” said Martin.

“On behalf of myself and the entire national Fianna Fáil organisation I want to express my deepest sympathy to his family at this very sad time.”

Fellow Kerry native and Fine Gael Minister of State with Responsibility for the Diaspora Jimmy Deenihan added to the tributes.

“County Kerry has lost a committed and a passionate public servant today in the passing of Jackie Healy Rae.”

“Jackie Healy-Rae was passionate about politics and passionate about Kerry. For many years he brought these two loves together through his dedicated representation of this area. I would like to extend my condolences to all of Jackie’s family and friends on this sad day,” said Deenihan.
