Man arrested following stabbing in Carlow

A man has been arrested in relation to the stabbing of a 17-year-old teenager in Carlow.

A man has been arrested in relation to the stabbing of a 17-year-old teenager in Carlow.

The local man was detained by Gardai under section four of the criminal justice act shortly after the discovery of the body.

The teenager was found with stab wounds in a bedsit on Granby Row on the Kilkenny Road in the town at about 3.30am this morning.

A post mortem examination will be carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr John Harbison, later today.
