Irish people are the most indebted in Europe, owing €180bn in total, a survey has suggested today.

Irish people are the most indebted in Europe, owing €180bn in total, a survey has suggested today.

The report from debt assistance company Money Village has found that people in debt face a lot of pressure from creditors, leading to social and psychological difficulties for them.

It also found that nearly half of those surveyed said they would not turn to family and friends for help.
