Gardaí investigate incident in Belmullet
Gardaí in Mayo are today investigating an incident in Belmullet which left a man with serious injuries.
At 1.45am this morning, gardai and the Ambulance Service were called to a housing estate in the town.
When they reached the scene, they discovered a man in his mid 20's with serious head injuries.
The man, who is believed to be a Polish national, was taken to Mayo General Hospital.
He has since been moved to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
The incident is being treated as suspicious and the scene has been sealed off for technical examination.
