Gardai have released a Limerick City Alderman without charge.

Gardai have released a Limerick City Alderman without charge.

Ald Michael Kelly was earlier today arrested as part of an Inquiry into the alleged hindering of investigations.

He was arrested at his home today in Ballineety, Co Limerick under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.

His family had rejected the arrest, saying it was "part of continued garda harassment in an election year".
