The Dáil Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is seeking further information on the events leading up to the introduction of the bank guarantee scheme, it has emerged today.

It has called Secretary General of the Department of Finance Kevin Cardiff to appear before it tomorrow, to find out more about the various options that were open to Government at the time.

It also wants to know why some advice was favoured over others.

The PAC says it would like to ask Mr Cardiff why some of the information the committee received was heavily censored and why the committee did not receive all the documentation requested.
