Kenny calls on Government to clarify Harney's position

The Fine Gael leader has called on the Taoiseach to clarify Health Minister Mary Harney's position in Government.

The Fine Gael leader has today called on the Taoiseach to clarify Health Minister Mary Harney's position in Government.

It comes after members of the Progressive Democrats voted in favour of dissolving the party at a special meeting last night.

Minister Harney has said she will not be joining any other party when the organisation is finally brought to an end.

Enda Kenny says this casts doubt on her position as Health Minister, and has called on Taoiseach Brian Cowen to clarify the situation.
