Man held after garda shot during robbery

A second man is being questioned by gardaí in north Dublin in connection with an attempted robbery during which a garda was shot in the hand.

A second man is being questioned by gardaí in north Dublin in connection with an attempted robbery during which a garda was shot in the hand.

The 21-year-old was arrested in the Finglas area early this afternoon, while a 34-year-old man is also in custody after being arrested in Swords this morning.

The garda, who was shot during the raid at a filling station on the North Road in Finglas last night, has been released from hospital.

Both suspects are being held at Blanchardstown garda station.
