Waterford awaits arrival of Tall Ships

Waterford is gearing up for the arrival of up to a 250,000 visitors this week who will descend on the city to watch the Tall Ships.

Waterford is gearing up for the arrival of up to a 250,000 visitors this week who will descend on the city to watch the Tall Ships.

Ninety vessels will set sail from the south eastern port on the first leg of a race across international waters.

The city is spending €20m on a four-day festival, when more than 3,000 crew members from 21 countries are expected to join the crowds.
