Rockmount 1 Waterford Untied 2
PJ Banville broke Rockmount hearts with a stoppage time winner to put Waterford into the semi-finals of the FAI Carlsberg Cup.
Substitute Banville struck on 92 minutes when firing home after Kenny Coleman set him up. Non-league Rockmount’s hopes were dealt an early blow as Blues stole the lead inside the first minute.
Daryl Murphy got on the end of David Breen’s ball over the top to cross for Willie Bruton, who had scored the equaliser in the first game, to head home at the back post.
Scarcely in the game, Rockmount hit back to level on 77 minutes when John Busteed volleyed home Pat Keane’s pass.
Blues were then reduced to 10 men as Vinny Sullivan was shown a straight red card in a scuffle following the goal.
