A record amount of glass has been recycled from Irish households in the past year, according to figures published by Rehab Recycle today.
The company says 60,000 tonnes of glass were deposited in its bottle banks over the last 12 months, a 16% increase on the previous record reported last year.
The highest rates of recycling were in Cork and Galway, followed by Leitrim and Sligo.
The figures are being released to coincide with Repak Recycling Week.
