German rider Jens Voigt won his first Tour de France stage in Sarran today.
The Credit Agricole rider, who wore the yellow jersey for one day earlier in the race, edged out Brad McGee in the sprint to take Stage 16.
Voigt and McGee were almost two minutes ahead of Alexandre Botcharov and Rolf Sorensen with Luis Perez a further minute back.
The peloton, including Lance Armstrong, finished over 26 minutes behind the lead group.
However the American’s lead was not in danger with only Botcharov likely to make a big climb up the overall standings.
